Designers are required artistic abilities in their fields, and also they have to know about computer design programs in the 21st century. Some of designers still cannot control the programs and just draw ideas only by their hands. However, majority of designers, especially interior designers have both skills of design: drawing their ideas by hands and using computer programs. Interior designers have to know about at least 3-steps of design programs nowadays.

First, Auto-CAD is a basic program in the architecture field. Interior designers have to understand architecture drawing plans and can modify it. In Korea, interior designer frequently connect with architects and receive their floor plans for design. After designers get the drawing from architects, they make a design indoor space. Interior design draw a electrical equipment, fire-fighting facilities, flooring and furniture on the Auto-CAD drawing. Auto-CAD is a primary program because it is very important measurement in the floor plans.

Second, Sketch-up and 3-D MAX are 3-demesional design programs. How many people can read a floor plans exactly? For helping to understand clients, interior designers should know these programs. The programs form shape of the floor plans; construct walls, install doors and set furniture. These programs are very similar with result of the construction. It is helping communication with the clients and designer because the clients can watch how the place will be changed before interior designer start to work.

Last, Photoshop and Illustrator improve design project well. The designers want show their design images to clients perfectly. Therefore interior designers control these programs for retouching and modifying images. Most designers are using these programs at the last step in the project before they have a meeting with the clients and present the project front of them. Therefore interior designers try to using these skills for the  image must be shown enthusiastic to their clients.

People want to know and see the result of work. Since they have a cautious about spending their money, designers have to explain their design plans to them and try to make understanding. For persuading people, designers should know many programs what programs express to people well. Among many design programs, these 3 step-programs are most important for interior designers.
