Updates from my last days in Melaka, Malaysia

>My boyfriend Joel came to visit me for the weekend.
He stayed til Tuesday afternoon. He accompanied me while I do the grueling job of recording the hymns while i play them on the piano.
That was the last time he'll be staying at my house in Melaka until May/June next year.

>My mom made her famous sugar coated pork ribs for me. She knows i love them=)

>My parents brought me to eat Dim Sum for breakfast on Tuesday

>I'm gonna miss Malaysia and Singapore foods...

>My luggage for PCC was overweight. I had used 5 vacuum bags. So even if it fits, the weight is still exceeding the limit. I had to take out so many things and leave them behind.
Currently, my room is in a humongous mess.
There are boxes everywhere-on top of my wardrobe, under my bed, even on my bed!
I can't believe I'm really leaving so soon. It's still not hitting me yet.
I haven't even really practiced my piano pieces for the auditions. I'm dead.
There's just so much to do!

>I have to cook seafood carbonara fetuccini for my dad for the last time before i leave.
He loves it=)

>I don't have time to get my Flu Vaccination.

>I just realized I'll be living ALONE in the U.S.
Something I've never done before.
For once I'll be managing my own bank account, keeping my own important documents and passport, waking up by myself, traveling without parents.
How am I gonna do this? HOW?
Only with God's help. God will take care of me.

>Being homeschooled a big half of my life, I don't know if i will be able to sit in a lecture hall and just listen to the lecturer talk and then study by myself after that.
OH Elizabeth.......................you need to pray hard!

I'll be going away to Pensacola, Florida from Melaka, Malaysia in exactly 4 days' time.

It's happening too fast. I can't even keep up.

Maybe this is just a horrible dream...

The day that I've been looking forward to for years is finally nearing..

How come I'm dreading it now?

More Food and a very Fat Stomach

On Saturday night, after shopping the whole afternoon away and exhausting my poor pregnant sister-in-law aka Da Sao,

We went for this famous Pontian Wanton Mee.

It was so good, i tell you! Specially the wanton.

No, the noodles.

The charsiew was good too.

The complimentary soup was yummy too.

OK, everything about it was good=)

Sunday after church, after my haircut, my siblings brought me to eat

Singapore's Best Roti Prata(called Roti Canai in Malaysia)

at the unusual meal time of 4.30pm.

See? This is how you get fat - eat at any and/or all times of the day.

The bigger piece that i was holding on my right hand is called Roti Bomb.

Named that way, according to me, is because it will totally bomb your medical report after eating it. Seriously. It was drenched, soaked, dipped, baptised in oil.

Inside the Roti Bomb, there was some kinda of sweet substance. I believe it's condensed milk. It was really yummy...

And on my left hand is the best crispy Roti Prata I've ever eaten!

At first i was skeptical about it because it looks weird...Sorta like a biscuit with warts. But it tasted so good!

Paired with a very delicious Milo Dinosaur,

It was totally MAMAK HEAVEN! Hehe...

A few hours of shopping to digest the mamak food, my sister and I went for Ramen!
At around the time of 9.30pm.

I supposed thats "dinner"

So my sister ordered her Volcano Ramen.
Judging by the name, it's supposed to blow your taste buds away when you eat it
'cause it's so spicy!

And for me, being the weird one as deemed by my family,
I ordered a Mabo Tofu Ramen.
HAHAHAHA you must be laughing!
But it was so good!! I loved it!
Look at the size of that bowl of ramen. It's HUGE!!
And my sister's set came with a scallop thingy
(it was in Japanese so i don't know its name)
and we ordered an order of 5 Gyozas(dumplings)
All these for two people. Two girls.

"I can't eat anymore! I'm so full! I'm bloated! My stomach is exploding!"
*breathes*

I bought this Playfirst game called Parking Dash
at Carrefour with my sister's money.
It's an awesome and challenging game.

Oh YEAH...I almost forgot.
After our haircuts (my sis-in-law, sister, and I), we went to AMK Hub and bought a Durian Pancake for each of us.
It was super-dee-duperly YUMMY!!
For those who don't like durian, you're missing out on a lot!!
The pancake was hot and crispy.
The durian filling was cold.
It's that fusion of hot and cold in your mouth that makes it special-er.

Those listed above aren't really expensive food...
THIS is expensive!

This is a very small piece of cake named Le Royale from
Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie that costs S$7 per piece.
BUT
It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOoOooooO good!!!!!

Fantastic Fattening Food Feast

I've only been in Singapore for 2days. Already I'm on FULL holiday mode! hehe...
18/8 I arrived Singapore at 8.30pm. We went for Thai food. Mmmm yummy!
19/8 The next day, my mom brought me to the USA Embassy to get my student visa done. It was approved in a matter of 2.5hours! Amazing.
I didnt have breakfast so I was starving!
I walked to Tanglin Mall(the nearest mall to the embassy) to meet my mom and had Korean beef with rice. After some walking, we went for kaya toast with butter and a drink.
And i bought some gummy bears in an awesome candy store.
Next we went to Westmall to have Hokkien Fried Prawn Noodles. I've been wanting to eat that everytime I come to Singapore. haha...It's my favorite Singaporean food=)
Um...we went home and my mom made some instant Gyoza for supper at 12am.

20/8 The next day, I woke up at 1pm in an empty house.
My mom went back to Melaka, my sis-in-law went out, n the rest went to work.
So i ate a chicken bun at 1.15pm. At around 2.30pm, I went to cook some Kimchi Instant Ramen. It was so nice!
I played the Sims 2 til 5pm and started to get ready to go out to meet my sister for dinner.
We travelled to Bugis together. And bought these cute lil noodles in a packet.
I dont know what they're called. But it's from a shop called "Noodlebar"
We bought two different kinds. It was ok....not spectacular.

Then we met up with Candy Lim and her sister - with whom we shared the packet noodles.
We headed straight for the beef noodles place. Beef noodles were so good!!! But i couldn't finish them...I had a lil bit left.
We were so full from the beef noodles so we went shopping for clothes and bras.
Finally we were ready for dessert! Hehe...
The dessert shop that we wanted to go to had such a monumental queue line that we just walked on to the other shop. It had a queue too, but compared to the previous shop, this is peanuts!
Anyway at the dessert shop we ordered a Durian Puree with Pomelo and Sago,

Mango Dessert with Sago,

and Black Sesame Paste + Peanut Paste.

It was 11pm by the time we finished the dessert.

Maybe even past 11pm!
We were thirsty from all that sweet stuff so we walked to McD and ordered a Medium Coke and Small Iced Green Tea.

The funny thing was, the Medium size here in Singapore is the same size as the Large in Malaysia. And the Small in Singapore is like the Medium in Malaysia. haha...
Then i went to buy my bro-in-law's supper. And absent-mindedly gave the cashier a Malaysian Ringgit 5sens. He threw the money back and gave me THE look. LOL i'm so blur.

I'm so stuffed now. I feel myself getting heavier everyday. Especially today.
Tomorrow's gonna be another one of those days...but with more eating.
Wow....I need to starve myself when I get back to Malaysia. HAHA!!
